Lana Dvorak






Lana Dvorak (she/they) is a multi-hyphenate creative focused on directing and producing independent films and music videos. Lana focuses on queer stories and celebrates strangeness as a vehicle for authentic expression and connection. Dvorak has directed, acted in and produced projects since moving to Los Angeles in 2019. Her directorial film debut, A Definitive Ranking of my Closest Friends, was selected as a semi-finalist for Dumbo Film Festival 2022 and debuted in August 2022 at the San Antonio Film Festival. She has a background in teaching acting and writing workshops and classes to adults and children. In Saint Louis, MO Lana co-created Whale of the People, an experimental artist collective committed to collaborations between mediums.



In September of 2023 Lana wrapped production on a short film she wrote and directed, I’m Not Like You. Currently, she is in post-production for a film she acted in and produced, Nova Ovum, a kink and sex positive queer sci-fi as well as a psychological thriller she directed, Come Around Again.



Early 2024 will provide exciting collaborations with artists such as Reggie Pearl and comedian Nina Dicker. Dvorak strives to create collaborative, radically cooperative working environments that explore non-hierarchical vehicles for decision-making. Raised in San Antonio, Texas, she is also a somatic coach and Skills for Change practitioner, mediator and bodyworker.
